Ref 0073-18 – R

These are exciting times for the University of Derby, with a university strategic framework underway to shape our direction, together with a vibrant transformation programme to deliver this. As part of this process, we are reshaping our registry services to closely align with our College structure. Key to the delivery of our new approach is the creation of five new College Registrar roles to lead the registry function in each of the University’s main colleges.

Joining our Registry, you will provide sector-leading professional and student-facing services underpinning the student lifecycle to support student wellbeing and success, all quality assured through national standards and regulatory compliance.

Reporting directly to the Academic Registrar, you will be working with the College senior leadership team and Registry colleagues to support the College in delivering its operational plans and achieving its targets whilst maintaining high standards of quality, compliance and governance. This role involves driving the professional service for colleges, working closely with stakeholders and providing advice and support, whilst continuously improving college academic delivery operations and enhancing the Student Experience.

To be successful, you will:

  • have gained experience in a complex professional services role;
  • be able to demonstrate the confidence and communication skills to work with a variety of stakeholders with tact, discretion, and flexibility;
  • be able to provide effective leadership and management of the Registry Team;
  • have an appreciation for academic work and cultures and the ability to develop and run highly efficient and regulated professional service systems.

Experience of working within a University sector is desirable.
