The Team

Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare Consulting combines specialists in Risk Consulting and Management Consulting with a passion for supporting the UK’s public sector. The IGH team in Risk Consulting has established a market-leading position supporting regulators and other public bodies with regulatory and policy change in all its variety.

We work closely with colleagues across tax, audit, deal advisory, data and analytics, financial management, economics, investigations and people and change (to name but several). Example projects in recent years include:

– Supporting a regulator with the development of the regulatory framework and programme management of the implementation for the regulation of a new profession
– Creating and managing award-winning programmes in leadership development
– Advising upon the design and implementation of the merger of multiple regulatory bodies into a new organisation
– Working with a regulator to help them design, engage and finalise their professional standards for education and training and the approach to quality assurance of these.
– Guiding a regulator through a programme of operational improvement following identification of major issues
– Working with universities and regulators on preparations for medical school expansion
– Working with a number of public sector actors to design public sector reform to key services, considering such things as workforce changes and impacts

The role

We are looking for a high performing candidate to:

  • Play a senior role in a growing team dedicated to supporting workforce reform in health, care and the wider public sector with multiple clients
  • Manage multiple major projects with clients, working in multidisciplinary team in areas such as:
  • Policy development and design
  • Workforce re-design and transformation
  • Reviews of governance or operational effectiveness
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Policy implementation and evaluation
  • Organisation design and development
  • Provide expert analysis and insight to colleagues across KPMG
  • Identify and build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the public sector and within KPMG to support ongoing business development
  • Performance manage junior colleagues to help them create rewarding careers in public sector consulting

This role can be based in London, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol or Birmingham

 

The person

You will be:

  • Passionate about the potential for public services to support and transform lives within the UK and are likely to have had or currently be in a senior role within the regulatory/public policy arena and will have led regulatory or policy development or the response from within industry
  • Strongly conversant in the issues of health and care and/or education policy and regulation with an excellent understanding of the public sector workforce reform agenda
  • Comprehension and experience of workforce re-design and transformation in health, care and the wider public sector
  • Operate highly effectively with senior stakeholders across government, regulatory agencies, public sector service providers, business and thought leaders
  • An excellent writer and editor – able to analyse key data and insights and craft succinct and impactful briefings and reports for internal and external clients on key issues
  • A confident and experienced presenter and facilitator of workshops
  • Ideally able to draw on experience working in consultancy or at the least able to demonstrate:
    Strong analytical capabilities
  • Excellent project and programme management
  • Confident leadership of multi-disciplined teams
  • Commitment to developing people
  • Commercial awareness
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • Reflective on your development areas and willing to push yourself to develop as a consultant
