As an academic enterprise, the University Library plays a key role in relation to learning, teaching and research, working in close partnership with academic staff and students.  We are seeking an innovative and experienced leader to join our high performing leadership team.  As part of the Library Executive Team, the post provides strategic direction for the Library’s Digital Services, advancing the University’s aspirations for learning, teaching and research.  The Associate Director will possess a deep knowledge of the scholarly communication environment and research lifecycle contributing to University level policy and strategic imperatives.  Engagement with Faculty, Professional Services and external partners will be integral to success.

Reporting to the Director of Library Services and University Librarian, the Associate Director blends roles across digital services; scholarly communications, open science and open publishing; faculty engagement and partnerships.  You will lead strategic initiatives spanning these realms in a dynamic and highly, collaborative University environment.  Forming and maintaining effective external partnerships and networks, with business, libraries and IT will be essential.  You will have well developed leadership skills, a full spectrum discipline view, and knowledge of the trends together with experience in applying digital solutions for the benefit of students, researchers and the communities we serve.  You will have an appetite for innovation and lead digital scholarship and open science services.
