We are seeking a positive, professional and solution focussed individual to join our team.

The successful candidate will work very closely with the Head of Access and Participation and the senior teams of our partner institutions to support the management, monitoring and reporting of progress against our institutional Access and Participation Plan (APP) outputs and objectives. They will highlight best practice across institutions and develop a mechanism for hosting, recording, and sharing this best practice, working collaboratively to positively impact student outcomes.

The candidate will use their excellent communication and negotiation skills to ensure that messaging, staff training and institutional engagement are prioritised.

The post will be key in the development of the ongoing resource evolution of the APP as well as contribute significantly to the next stage of the APPs development.

The post is full time (37 hours), fixed term, working at UON Waterside Campus, at partner institutions and with the opportunity to work more flexibly – blending locations and working times according to the work being carried out until 30th September 2022. There is ambition for the role to be extended beyond this date.

About you

Educated to level 4 or with relevant experience, you will need to demonstrate you can communicate and negotiate with senior leaders. You will need to be able to make clear decisions as well as manage and monitor progress across different institutions with different needs and different cohorts of students, whilst also sharing good practice resources and opportunities.

You will need to have excellent use of MS Office applications and be able to use this to work collaboratively with colleagues across the university and partner institutions to achieve shared outcomes.

You should have an understanding of the University’s APP and use this to highlight opportunities as they arise for improvement that can be shared across institutions to enable student outcomes to be improved.

Qualifications

Essential:

First degree or significant appropriate work experience

You will be working directly with The Head of Access and Participation but also within a team of 30 practitioners whose roles range from student career and employability guidance, schools engagement colleagues, business and enterprise professionals and volunteering leads, who all play a key part in the achievement of successful student outcomes through our Access and Participation Plan. The post sits within the Department for Employability and Enterprise.
