The role

An exciting opportunity is available to join the new Academic Strategy Support Team in the Strategy Office, supporting the work of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and the VCE Academic management group as they create new models of shared academic accountability.

You will manage cross-institutional projects, working collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders, including academic leaders, operational experts, management and advisory groups and academic governance.

You will initially be responsible for planning, monitoring and reporting on activity to deliver the agreed priorities of the University’s Curriculum Plan.  You will manage risks and work with colleagues to develop mitigating action in response to risks and issues.  You will also be required to provide similar management support for more discrete pieces of work in support of academic strategic objectives.

 

Skills and experience

To be effective in this role, you will have excellent interpersonal and influencing skills and an ability to contribute to the effective working of cross-functional teams.  This will be supported by excellent communication and organisational skills, with a calm approach to tight or changing deadlines.  You will be able to apply these abilities to collaborative pieces of work that can range from exploratory reviews to structured projects.
