“The enemy within” – why the narrative about universities and students went so wrong and how we win the battle of ideas

Wonkhe’s editor Mark Leach is giving a major new lecture at the University of Greenwich as part of the university’s open lecture series.

Mark will examine the history and root causes of current political and media tropes about universities which boil down to being an “enemy within”. From Generation Snowflake to the free speech debates, to Brexit, to vice chancellor pay and value for money, to intergenerational unfairness, out-of-touch liberal elites and everything in between these often violently clashing themes.

What does it all mean and what can universities do to regain the initiative?
