Higher education and the media

Join our panel of leading journalists and experts for a discussion about higher education in the media. If universities are unhappy with their public media coverage they only have themselves to blame… Or is there more to it? This seminar will take a reflective and critical look at how the media informs and reflects UK public debate about higher education.

Speakers:

John Gill, Simon Baker and Carly Minsky from The Times Higher Education
Brendan O’Malley from University World News
Mark Leach from Wonkhe
Gemma Ware and Stephen Khan from The Conversation
Graeme Wise from University Alliance and NUS
Peter Scott from the Centre for Global Higher Education/UCL Institute of Education
Chair: Simon Marginson from the Centre for Global Higher Education

All seminars are free and open to the public. Advance booking for this seminar is essential – please email Anna Phillips (anna.phillips@ucl.ac.uk) to confirm your attendance. Spaces will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
