Educating the AI generation

Thursday 30 April 2026, 12.00pm-1.00pm

Everyone’s worried about students developing AI skills, but is there enough attention paid to educators? Within institutions, the challenge of creating, developing and shaping a future which is AI-enabled is pressing, and leaders are being looked to for clarity within a landscape where a great deal remains unknown. It’s not just about teaching AI literacy, it’s about using AI capabilities to support curriculum and learning design, assessment, and teaching administration – and being able to use academic judgement on continuing to uphold academic quality and standards while doing so.

Drawing on exclusive new research from Wonkhe and Kortext, this webinar will try to chart a path on how best to support educators across higher education to use AI in the most appropriate and impactful ways. Hosted by Wonkhe editor Debbie McVitty and Rachel Maxwell, Director of Sector Engagement and Academic Research at Kortex, with Megan Kime, Director of Education Innovation, University of Exeter, Kate Borthwick, Professor of Digital Education at the University of Southampton, and Katie Costis, Vice President Education, Worcester Students’ Union.
