Deputy Director

Expires

17th December 2015

Wonkhe.com is a leading web-based think tank at the heart of the higher education (HE) debate, launched in January 2011. Read widely across the sector and in other parts of policy, politics and media, the site has grown and become increasingly influential in the UK HE debate.

Underpinning the website and its success so far is a small growing company – Wonkhe Ltd – which began life in mid-2014 with an aim to provide Wonkhe.com (and all its other channels and activities) a sustainable home. Wonkhe is led by its Editor and Director Mark Leach and a team of non-executive directors drawn from the HE sector.

The new position of Deputy Director will report to Mark Leach and add vitally needed capacity across the entire range of activity currently being undertaken by Wonkhe. The role will be a mixture of internal-facing desk based activity as well as external-facing relationship building and partnership management.

Given the size of Wonkhe and our stage of development, the role will demand a willingness to lend a hand across all of Wonkhe’s activity as needed.

We have some desk space at a London university which you will be able to work from, although the role will likely involve much home working and travel – particularly within London.

The role would suit an individual looking for either a full-time or part-time (at least 3 days a week) position. There is some flexibility in the hours, although the post-holder will need to make themselves available to attend key external events and Wonkhe’s own events.

The role will be based on an initial six month contract.
