Introduction

Do you have experience as a senior member of a university or higher education institution? Are you motivated to make an impact on universities by promoting leadership, organisational development and research? If the answer is yes, then this opportunity could be for you!

Advance HE is seeking a senior consultant for leadership, organisational development and research to support our ambitious growth and member engagement plans. Whether it be developing content on higher education leadership, creating advisory solutions or encouraging collaborative working across Advance HE, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the best outcomes for students.

In return for your work, you’ll receive a range of benefits including:

  • A generous pension with USS.
  • Enhanced family leave benefits.
  • 31 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Flexible working hours.

…just to name a few.

What you’ll be doing

As Senior Consultant for Leadership, Organisational Development and Research, you’ll help us shape our offer to our members for ensuring excellence and innovation in leadership and OD, helping higher education be the best it can be for the benefit of students, staff and society. Your work will ensure that positive student outcomes are delivered globally through consistently impactful education leadership.

Specifically, you’ll lead on the design and delivery of high-quality content and solutions related to leadership and organisational development. You’ll be the expert we turn to on these subjects, using your deep understanding of the education sector to create exceptional thought leadership.

In addition, you’ll act as programme director for programmes and consultancy projects, working with and through a team of associates and colleagues. Contributing to the planning and delivery of our annual operational plan is also a vital part of your work — your efforts will help us drive ever-higher standards in higher education.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for people with deep experience of higher education, contemporary approaches to leadership development and a track record of shaping effective solutions. Being able to create high-quality, evidence-based thought leadership content will be important in this role, as will experience beyond your organisational role – perhaps as an associate, or representative capacity.

Using your experience as well as your strong academic or expert background, you’ll be able to engage a wide range of audiences and create an effective dialogue around leadership, organisational development and research.

We’re also looking for someone who recognises the value of working within a charitable organisation, who is ambitious and curious and really want to make a difference.

What do you need

  • Experience in managing complex projects.
  • Knowledge of the education sector and relevant policy.
  • Experience in producing evidence-based, high-quality thought leadership.
  • Experience acting as a trusted adviser and consultant.
