ARMA is the UK association for research managers and administrators.
Our purpose is to provide professional development opportunities, to connect the RMA community and to advocate the views of the profession in relation to national policy and matters directly affecting RMAs and researchers. We represent research leaders, managers, and administrators, offering professional development and opportunities to build networks, knowledge and skills. We work with UK-wide and international bodies to influence and understand the changing research management agenda, translating the impacts of that change for our members. We work with others to promote public trust in research, communicating its benefits and value. Most of all, we work to enhance research management as a professional partner in the UK research environment
At this exciting point in our history, and with the development of our Strategy 2021-2024, we now wish to appoint a Chief Executive to help drive forward the organisation and help us achieve our future ambitions. A visible, influential, and credible leader to our staff and members, you will be appreciative of the challenges and opportunities faced by our members and how we can help in terms of our membership offer. Your inclusive and collaborative approach will be evident together with your ability to drive growth and innovation, keeping the interests of ARMA members at the heart of all decision making.
In addition, we seek to appoint a Head of Membership Engagement. Whilst ARMA is a successful and resilient organisation, we are eager to grow our membership further and ensure wider representation. With experience of working in the membership recruitment and retention area, we are keen to hear from individuals from a range of sectors, looking to make that next step in their career. With an experience working with an established customer base, you will have the right skills to help us grow and better serve our members.
Both roles are based from home but visibility will be key and travel will be required.
ARMA is actively seeking to address underrepresentation within its leadership and governance. We therefore warmly welcome applications from groups that are underrepresented across the research and innovation sector. We will be taking active steps to reduce barriers to participation, including through inclusive recruitment practice and positive action in our recruitment process. We welcome any requests for further adjustments that would make our process more accessible.
We are keen to advertise this role as widely as possible. If you know someone or are part of networks that may be interested, we’d love for you to share. For a confidential discussion, please call Helene Usherwood, Partner at Anderson Quigley on 07719 322 669.
