As Events Assistant, you will assist with the planning and delivery of a variety of events ranging from open days and applicant days to applicant interview days and VIP receptions. The post will include a wide variety of tasks involved in event delivery such as delegate communications, event administration and marketing activity.

Working as part of a team, you will independently manage your own projects and support the Senior Marketing Officer for Events to develop and grow the events programme.

The post holder will be required to work occasional weekends and evenings outside of office hours to fulfil the duties of the post.

 

About You

The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail and communication skills, be highly organised and will have experience in building strong relationships across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Experience of delivering excellent customer service is essential and knowledge and experience of working within the Higher Education Sector will be advantageous.

Qualifications

Essential;

Marketing/Events/Advertising Degree or equivalent experience in a related role.

Desirable;

CIM/CAM modules/qualifications.

 

Faculty/Department

Marketing and International Relations (MIR) is responsible for the promotion of the University and its courses in order to recruit students from the UK and overseas. We use market research to develop creative strategies that explain how we can help our students achieve their goals.

MIR is responsible for external promotion; public relations; advertising and recruitment events in addition to internal communication for staff and current students. We act as trusted advisors across the institution on all matters relating to promotion and reputation.
