Policy and Research Manager

Expires

23rd June 2021

We are looking for a motivated Policy and Research Manager to support the growth of AGCAS’s Research and Knowledge and Advocacy activities.

Reporting to the Head of External Relations, you will use research insights and sector knowledge to develop policy recommendations.

Acting as the first point of contact for AGCAS research, you will manage the delivery of the research programme and report effective conclusions from research findings through a range of platforms. You will help raise AGCAS’s external profile through engagement with key sector and policy issues, including drafting consultation responses and position statements that represent the sector, profession and diverse membership of AGCAS. You will play a key role in enabling AGCAS to be responsive to fast-paced policy developments.

To be successful in the role you will have existing knowledge of the HE policy landscape and current trends in the fields of student career development and graduate employment, with experience of policy, public relations or journalism.

You will also be well organised, able to keep abreast of and respond swiftly to shifting external agendas and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to assimilate and interpret large volumes of data and detailed policy/research reports is a key requirement of the post.

The role will be home-based within the UK. Due to the size of the AGCAS staff team, there is a need for all team members to be flexible and help others during periods of higher workload. The role may include, when allowed, occasional UK travel and overnight stays.
