The Midlands Innovation university partnership is seeking to appoint a Communications and Advocacy manager to support the profile and reputation of the partnership. This is a new role for Midlands Innovation. The successful applicant will join a small team that manager the partnership. The successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Effectively plan, manage and execute marketing campaigns in order to raise awareness and reputation of the Midlands Innovation university partnership, within the partner institutions, across the Midlands, and on the national and international stage;
  • Decide on appropriate channels to reach and engage key stakeholders including regional, funders, governmental, business, and the general public, as appropriate;
  • Work with Executive Management Group and Midlands Innovation Director to identify areas of collaboration, and promote high-quality work through innovative and creative campaigns and case studies;
  • Develop and expand an understanding and appreciation of the public and political affairs objectives of Midlands Innovation to enable complex and delicate issues to be dealt with appropriately and in confidence and to ensure that all meeting content is appropriate and in keeping with the public and political affairs and wider strategies of the partnership;
  • Produce effective and high-level correspondence, presentation material and other collateral on behalf of the Midlands Innovation Director;
  • Maintain and develop the Midlands Innovation external engagement forward planning grid and authoring updates to senior staff across the partnership;
  • Work closely with the Marketing, Communications and Public Affairs teams at the partner universities to position Midlands Innovation as a leading university collaboration.

The collaborative nature of this programme and the geographical distribution of its partners means that the successful applicant will be expected to travel regularly to meetings at the partner institutions.

This position will be offered on a permanent, full-time contract (36.25 Hours per week). Job share arrangements may be considered.
