Internal Communications and Governance Manager

Expires

21st November 2017

We are recruiting this key role at an exciting time for The Open University’s Business School and Law School.

The Schools deliver qualifications, research, executive education, free learning via Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and we continuously innovate to diversify our offer to both individuals and organisations.  For this reason we require a creative and experienced internal communications manager who can ensure all staff have a shared understanding of and commitment to delivering our strategy in this busy, changing environment.

The post holder will build on existing internal communications by developing a content and channel plan that will engage employees across both Schools, writing copy and developing messaging that is aligned to the corporate messaging, tone and brand guidelines.

The role is also responsible for ensuring compliance with the University’s governance procedures and so requires an individual with a keen eye for detail and an aptitude for planning.

You will work closely with senior staff in the Business and Law Schools, including the Executive Dean, and various professional services areas of the University, such as the Vice Chancellor’s Office and the Communications Unit.

You must have experience of managing consistent internal and external messaging, delivering creative communications campaigns, demonstrate excellent interpersonal and management skills and the ability to network effectively and quickly establish good working relationships. The ability to work to tight deadlines and reprioritise your workload is essential to be successful in this role.
