We are looking to recruit a Policy Officer (Higher Education Policy Adviser (HEPA) 7) to work within the team responsible for delivering the next Research Excellence Framework (REF).

The REF is the system for assessing the quality of research in UK higher education institutions. The key purposes of the REF are to inform the selective allocation of funding for research; provide accountability for public investment in research and produce evidence of the benefits of this investment; and, provide benchmarking information and establish reputational yardsticks, for use within the HE sector and for public information.

We are looking for a very well-organised, self-motivated person, ideally with a background and key interest in higher education, research or policy. Capable of working on their own initiative, the ideal candidate will contribute substantially to the development and delivery of the next REF. You will have an analytical approach and be a confident communicator with people at all levels.
