Attractive Salary and Package

Oxford Brookes University is one of the UK’s leading modern higher education institutions. Our strategic plan identifies four strategic goals: Student Experience, Research and Knowledge Exchange, Infrastructure and Services, and External. The strategy builds on the institution’s existing strengths and sets a framework for excellence and innovation that will drive further impact for the benefit of all of our communities in the context of an increasingly competitive environment.

To help drive forward our strategic plan, we are looking to appoint a Director of Strategic Change and Planning in advance of the retirement of the current incumbent in early 2018.

Reporting into the Registrar and Chief Operating Officer, you will lead and shape a directorate tasked with leading on the University’s planning, performance and change activity. In developing the University’s strategic and operational planning culture, you will work with senior leaders across the institution to provide robust strategic and operational planning processes that are informed by high quality corporate business and market intelligence.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading and developing strategic planning, performance processes and change initiatives in a relevant and complex environment. Balancing strong analytical and team leadership skills, candidates will have experience of horizon-scanning and applying data to inform organisational decision-making through business intelligence. While higher education experience is not essential, candidates must appreciate the knowledge-led community of which they will be a senior member and the hybrid public/private culture and decision-making of our sector.
