The new role of Director of Research and Innovation Services (RIS), offers the opportunity to play a major part in the development of our University and the achievement of our Teesside 2020 strategy as a leading university “with an international reputation for academic excellence …underpinned by research, enterprise and the professions”.

Reporting directly to the Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation, and leading a department of 15 supporting the University Senior Executive Team and our academic schools in delivering our ambitious targets for growth of Research and Innovation activity, we are seeking an individual with the energy, experience, skills and knowledge to help us realise our aspirations for the University.

You should have an excellent knowledge of the UK and international research funding landscape and opportunities, the legal, ethical and financial governance of research and a good technical understanding of research/information and data management.

With a good degree and postgraduate or professional qualification, you will be an experienced leader in the HE or Research sector with the ability to develop and sustain effective networks and relationships at all levels.
