Associate Editor

Expires

25th July 2017

A rare opportunity has arisen to join Wonkhe as an Associate Editor. We are looking for someone with a great passion for higher education policy and politics to join our small but dynamic team at an exciting time for Wonkhe and a moment of great change for our sector.

From day one you will be working at the heart of all of Wonkhe’s work. You will be writing, editing and commissioning articles that lead the HE debate on Wonkhe.com and have an important role in writing and editing our daily and weekly email briefings. You’ll be working on our flagship event Wonkfest in November and as part of life in a small team, will be involved in everything that Wonkhe does (including several secret projects that are still under wraps).

We are open minded about your professional background or level of experience, but you will need communication skills of the highest order – your editorial work will be read by our large and influential community across UK HE, policymaking, politics and the media. You’ll relish the opportunity to dig your teeth into complex issues and communicate them to a variety of different audiences.

In person, you will need to command the confidence of rooms of some of the country’s top wonks and speak publicly with humour and knowledge about what might otherwise be considered to be overly complicated or dry topics.

As an Associate Editor, you will not only be a credible advocate for Wonkhe, but a leader in the higher education community with a responsibility to inform and enliven the sector.

You’ll need an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to help contribute to Wonkhe the company – a rapidly developing startup with numerous exciting opportunities on the horizon. Hustle will be your watchword – whether that’s to get to the bottom of the latest policy development or going the extra mile for our many readers and partners.

In return you’ll have a high-profile position, enviable influence in higher education policy, flexible terms, supportive and equally enthusiastic colleagues, and probably the most fun job in UK HE today.
