The Inside Track: Understanding Politics and Policy

It’s more important than ever for UK universities to engage with Europe. Wonkhe and Ranmore have developed an engagement programme for university leaders to understand the workings of the EU and its institutions through an immersive two days in Brussels.

We invite you to spend time horizon scanning, working with peers to explore key policy questions, and engaging directly with policy-makers through this intensive development programme. At the end, you’ll understand in detail the workings of Brussels and the opportunities and threats facing the UK’s universities from Brexit.

Building on our experience running The Inside Track in London, in which participants met politicians, civil servants, lobbyists and academic experts, we have arranged a programme in Brussels which will enable full and in-depth engagement for all participants. Previous participants on The Inside Track said:

“I really enjoyed the event, it was engaging, insightful and good fun! The tried and tested methodology is brilliant and a good way to really ensure the most is achieved in the time available. The range of people you persuaded us to talk to us was also good and varied.” Deputy Vice Chancellor

“The immersive nature worked well and provided a great opportunity for reflection. The interviews were very honest and eye-opening. The Inside Track has changed my perspective on issues facing the sector and helped me understand what universities can do to influence policy.” Executive Officer
