Bridge Group Conference

Policy to Support Social Mobility: Fair Access to University and the Professions.

The Bridge Group is a charitable policy association researching and promoting social mobility.

Its conference, aimed at providing an opportunity for cross-sector debate on policy supporting social mobility – with a particular focus on access to university and the professions – will feature the latest research, evidence and practice. Keynote addresses with Q & A, panel debates; round table seminar discussions and networking are among the sessions planned. The full programme is to be confirmed.

The conference is a not-for-profit event hosted and sponsored by KPGM, whose commitment means that the registration fee applicable is £55. Colleagues for whom the registration fee is prohibitive should get in touch by email.

Speakers include Football Association Chairman Greg Dyke, Resolution Foundation executive chair the Rt Hon. Lord Willetts, Professor Dame Julia Goodfellow – Universities UK president and University of Kent vice-chancellor – and Lord MacDonald QC, warden (Wadham College, University of Oxford) and former director of public prosecutions.

The event is aimed at influencers, senior colleagues and practitioners across the education, employer and third sectors.

Registration includes attendance at the post-conference drinks reception and a copy of the Bridge Group report (published in January 2016) “Bridging the Gaps: Student Employability and Progression.”

Tickets are expected to sell out quickly.
