A few months ago we embarked on an ambitious project to substantially grow this site and its activities and I am pleased to report that things are progressing very well indeed. We want to be the sector’s daily destination for all commentary, debate and analysis about higher education and be an important platform for the new and previously unheard voices in the sector. Our big ambitions are backed up by a big strategy that we are now in the first phase of delivering and I wanted to report back today about our progress.
I know the site itself has been a bit quieter than usual recently, and I’m very sorry about that, but we have been busy laying the groundwork to become sustainable, maintain a high standard and provide the consistency that you value. I promise it will be worth it.
Our company wonkhe ltd. is now fully operational and led by a brilliant Board from across the sector- you can read about who they are on the About Us page. We are now recruiting for an additional member to join the Board. Find out more and apply at the listing on Jobs for wonks.
Jobs for wonks
Jobs for wonks has now been up and running for a couple of months and we have already had customers from universities and sector agencies. We hope to a be a real hub of jobs for the wonk community spanning policy, strategy, public affairs and other associated roles in the sector. Find out more about it, how to advertise your jobs and take advantage of our introductory offer here.
I am pleased to announce a new Editorial Group. Chaired by me, the Group will meet once each term and help steer the content and overall tone of the site and its output. The first meeting of the Group is this afternoon and is made up of a diverse range of colleagues from accross higher education and beyond. Read about them here.
I am also very pleased to announce our first two major partnerships. Unite and the University of Lincoln are the first two organisations to support us – you may have noticed their logos appearing on the left side of the page this week. We are currently building a network of partners that can help us deliver an exciting strategy, and believe we have a really valuable offer for organisations that work in or with higher education. If you’d like to find out how to support us and what we can do for you in return, please get in touch.
Twitter and email
Our Twitter account has now stormed past 10k followers. Thanks to everyone that engages with us there – we look forward to welcoming the next 10k. The email list has also grown substantially in recent months. If you’d like to be the first to see new wonkhe blogs then you need to subscribe.
That’s all for today, but we are making progress all the time so watch this space for further announcements soon.
